I just returned from an amazing week of skiing in Colorado. Used my Freedom Sling around my waist under my jacket and had all my usual things with me but out of the way. I didn’t even notice I had it with me. How many people can say that about their daily bag? Also both flights to and from I was able to bring it on as a 3rd carry on. It looks like part of my backpack when I wear it in front or around my waist. Wonderful for traveling and any sport you want to do.

skiing with the Freedom Sling

I’m always thinking of new things to do with a Freedom Strap. What I’ve discovered is that it is just part of my life. I wear it when I drive, when I work in the hospital I have it with me. Yesterday I had the pleasure of rock climbing and rappelling off of a 14o ft. arch in Arches National Park in southern Utah where I kept all my things with me while dangling from a long rope. A fanny pack is not as fun to wear and not as versatile.

This week DVF and other well known designers debuted their hands-free bags and were noticed in many of the major news venues including NPR and the Wall Street Journal. You can buy one of their designer hands-free bags for between $325 and $1660 or you can get an entirely new design and make your own hands-free statement by wearing a Freedom Strap by Sucaro. The other offerings are limited in use in ways that Sucaro bags are not. The designer bags are meant to be worn only one way, around the waist while Sucaro bags can be worn by men and women seven different ways on the body. And they are less than half the price of the least expensive designer bags. Sucaro Bags are designer bags too. The designer just hasn’t yet been discovered. But that will soon change and if you buy one, you will be one of the few on Earth who have one.

I had the pleasure of meeting today with the wonderful sales staff at B&H Photo/Video in Manhattan to share the virtues of the Freedom Strap. They were an incredibly enthusiastic group who felt this product was quite unique, stylish and yet utilitarian. They had a number of great ideas. For people who bike at night such as city bike commuters, one can attach with a velcro strap, a reflector that could wrap around and be removed when not biking. That was a great idea for biker safety. The same could be done for motorcyclists. Another suggestion was to have a way of hanging a small umbrella from the Strap on rainy days. We discussed using a carabiner hook to attach it from the D ring on top of the bag. I bought a very useful, large nylon shopping bag that folds into a little pack and easily fits into any one of the pockets on the Freedom Strap. Having this with me all the time expands the usefulness of the Strap by allowing me to always have a shopping bag with me that takes up little space. It was great fun to hear how different people could envision using it. Their enthusiasm for the Sucaro Products was inspiring to me.

I have wanted this particular wallet for years. I like to have my things secured in a neat, well closed wallet that fits in my hand. I have looked for this wallet in every store I go into that sells wallets and have never found it anywhere. So I decided to design and manufacture it to fit in the Freedom Strap. Many people who have bought it tell me it is their favorite wallet they’ve ever had. What makes it different is the accordion style slots make finding and removing cards easier, combined with a slot for bills which most accordion wallets don’t have and a change purse inside. The zipper on this wallet is so smooth and reliable it’s a pleasure to zip up when you need it. The leather is smooth and sturdy and there’s even a slot for ID on the inside or a photo of someone you love. This wallet works great for both men and women.

TAGs: zipper wallet, Freedom Strap, accordion style slots, wallets for men, wallets for women

Occasionally when I’m wearing my Freedom Strap (which is all the time), someone will make a comment to me like “hey is that where you store your ammo?” I just laugh with them and tell them the real virtues of this shaped bag–how it carries a lot while being streamlined and comfortable, how it conforms to one’s body in such a way that it almost seems like it’s not there. There are few bags that can be used in so many ways by so many different types of people. It’s time to embrace the bandolier as a bag for all people doing all things.
