The vision for Sucaro is creating innovative, versatile and fun to carry bags….for all people.

“I view my company reaching beyond the status quo for there is really nothing like these products found anywhere. There is nothing that can be worn so many ways, to carry so many things, by so many different kinds of people,” said accessories designer Susan Bellinson.

Ms. Bellinson intends on strengthening and improving the quality of life for women across the globe. The company has donated money to women’s health care in Rwanda, and now seeks to help educate the teenage generation with a partnership with the well-known organization, Seeds of Peace. This internationally recognized organization is dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and respectful coexistence.

About Susan Bellinson, Accessories Designer for Sucaro

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Susan lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and became a Registered Nurse (RN). She returned to Michigan and worked in labor and delivery as an RN and went to midwifery school at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1984, she moved to City Island, NY and has worked until now as a nurse-midwife at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Hospital in the Bronx. She has delivered thousands of babies over the years and – as a “grandma midwife” – has cared for 3 generations of families. Susan has two children of her own.

Susan started out in unchartered territory when she began designing bags in 2002. Like many entrepreneurs, Susan felt like she was on a roller coaster until 2009, when her design ideas began to take off. Over 9 years have passed since Susan’s first designs, but her work hasn’t lost its originality. The materials and workmanship are high quality and the Freedom Sling has earned a U.S. Utility patent in July 2012.

Susan enjoys many activities, including downhill and cross country skiing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, tennis, camping, waterskiing, scuba diving, swimming, rock climbing, caving, reading, dancing, gardening, politics, art, stained glass, building things, reading and good conversation. Above all, Susan’s varied interests have combined to create a designer whose enjoyment of an active lifestyle, along with a “can-do” attitude has led to innovative designs.
